Terms and Conditions

  1. Introduction

Welcome to ABA ACADEMY ("Portal"), accessible via aba.net. ABA ACADEMY is an online events, training, and professional development marketplace intended to support the ASEAN banking and financial services community by connecting Associations, Training Providers, Organizations, and Participants through a shared digital platform.

By accessing or using the Portal, users acknowledge and agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions.

  2. Nature of the Platform

ABA ACADEMY operates primarily as a self-service marketplace platform where participating users independently create, manage, publish, register for, and administer training programs, certifications, workshops, events, and related activities. ABA ACADEMY acts solely as a technology platform and facilitator and, unless otherwise expressly stated, is not the direct organizer, certifying authority, sponsor, or operator of third-party events or services made available through the platform.

  3. User Responsibilities

Users are responsible for ensuring that all information submitted to the Portal, including organizational details, event postings, registrations, certifications, and related content, are accurate, complete, lawful, and up to date. Users are likewise responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of their account credentials and for all activities conducted under their accounts.

  4. Fraudulent and Unauthorized Activities

ABA ACADEMY reserves the right to review, validate, suspend, reject, restrict, or terminate accounts, registrations, events, sessions, courses, content, or related activities where it determines, at its sole discretion, that such activities may be fraudulent, misleading, abusive, unauthorized, unlawful, or harmful to the integrity of the platform or its users.

This includes, but is not limited to, fraudulent event postings, invalid or fake registrations, unauthorized payment activities, abuse of vouchers or certifications, impersonation of organizations or individuals, misrepresentation of credentials, or any activity that may compromise platform integrity, operational security, or community trust.

  5. Training Providers and Third-Party Services

Associations, Training Providers, and Organizations remain fully responsible for the content, quality, delivery, instructor qualifications, certifications, compliance obligations, and operational management of their respective services and activities within the Portal.

ABA ACADEMY does not guarantee the quality, accuracy, recognition, availability, regulatory acceptance, scheduling, or outcomes of any training, certification, or third-party service offered through the platform.

  6. Payments and Transactions

Payments and transactions conducted through the Portal may be processed by third-party payment providers or financial institutions. Users acknowledge that pricing, taxes, refunds, exchange rates, transaction charges, and related financial terms may vary depending on the Provider, Association, Organization, jurisdiction, or payment channel used.

ABA ACADEMY shall not be liable for disputes, delays, losses, or issues arising from third-party payment processing or financial service providers.

  7. Certificates and Training Records

Certificates, attendance records, training records, and related credentials accessible through the Portal are issued and managed by the relevant Training Provider or Association. ABA ACADEMY does not independently verify or warrant the professional, academic, or regulatory standing of such certifications unless specifically stated otherwise.

  8. Intellectual Property

Users retain ownership of content and materials they upload or submit to the platform while granting ABA ACADEMY a non-exclusive right to host, process, display, reproduce, and distribute such content solely for purposes related to the operation and administration of the marketplace.

Users shall not upload content that infringes upon intellectual property rights, confidentiality obligations, or applicable laws and regulations.

  9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ABA ACADEMY and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from the use of the platform, including but not limited to disputes between users, inaccurate information, cancellations, scheduling conflicts, certification disputes, service interruptions, training outcomes, user conduct, or unauthorized access.

Users acknowledge and agree that the platform is substantially self-managed by participating Associations, Providers, Organizations, and Participants.

  10. Security and Availability

ABA ACADEMY implements reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to help protect platform information and user data. However, no online system or technology environment can guarantee absolute security, uninterrupted availability, or error-free operation.

Users remain responsible for maintaining the security of their own accounts, credentials, and internal organizational access controls.

  11. Platform Modifications

ABA ACADEMY reserves the right to modify, enhance, suspend, or discontinue any feature, functionality, service, policy, or operational process of the platform at any time without prior notice.

Continued use of the Portal following any updates or modifications constitutes acceptance of such changes.

  12. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by applicable laws and regulations determined by the operating jurisdiction of ABA ACADEMY unless otherwise specified.
